The election for the ‘Referat für internationale Studierende’ (RIS) in the AStA will take place from 10 June to 12 June 2025.

The RIS is the self-organised political representation of the interests of all international students (without a German passport) or with a migration background. All students to whom this applies and who are enrolled at the University of Hamburg or at the Studienkolleg can participate.

As a semi-autonomous department within the AStA, the RIS facilitates solidarity-based engagement for social, political and global improvements and for a culture of international solidarity.

There are major challenges that we have to deal with: from visas and student financing, to finding accommodation and jobs, to the fight against racism, to war and peace and other human issues.

In many countries, students are essential to the social movement for human dignity and peace.

In the RIS students from all over the world come together to organise for social improvement, global solidarity and international understanding and to create a vibrant culture of shared education, critical engagement and personal development!

All international students and students with a history of migration from the University of Hamburg and the Studienkolleg are eligible to vote. Proof of eligibility to vote is provided by presenting the matriculation number.
