The Academic Senate is the highest university body. It is involved in the election of the university presidium, discusses all fundamental issues relating to the university’s development and the situation and interests of its members. The AS has the right to make decisions (e.g. regarding examination regulations, distribution of funds, mission statements, working conditions, strategic planning of the university, etc.). The AS is composed of 10 professors, 3 students, 3 research assistants and 3 members of the technical, administrative and library staff. The student representatives are elected annually.
The election is an online election. The election period runs from 12 January to 30 January 2026. You have received two emails at your university email address vorname.nachname@studium.uni-hamburg.de. These emails come from the sender voting@polyas.com. The first email contains the password, the second email contains the ID you need to vote. There you will also find the link to the election portal.
If you have not received an email by 12 January 2026, please contact the university’s election office by email (wahlamt.uhh@uni-hamburg) or in person at Mittelweg 177, room S 4058 or room 4061. If you have never used your functional email address before, you can access it via the website surfmail.rrz.uni-hamburg.de. Your username is your B-ID, and the password is the same as the one you use for STiNE.

Wählen zum Akademischen Senat (AS) -Wie funktioniert das?
Der Akademische Senat ist das höchste Uni-Gremium. Er ist bei der Wahl des Uni-Präsidiums beteiligt, diskutiert alle Grundsatzfragen der universitären Entwicklung und die Lage und Interessen ihrer Mitglieder. Der AS hat Beschlussrechte (z.B. in Bezug auf die Prüfungsordnung, Mittelverteilung, Leitbilder, Arbeitsbedingungen, strategische Planung der Uni etc.). Der AS ist aus 10 Professor:innen, 3 Studierenden, 3 wissenschaftlichen Mitarbeiter:innen und 3 Mitgliedern des Technischen-, Verwaltungs- und Bibliothekspersonals zusammengesetzt. Die studentischen Vertreter:innen werden jährlich gewählt.
Die Wahl ist eine Online-Wahl. Der Wahlzeitraum läuft vom 12. Januar bis zum 30. Januar 2026. Du hast zwei Mails erhalten an Deine eMail-Adresse der Universität vorname.nachname@studium.uni-hamburg.de. Diese Mails kommen vom Absender voting@polyas.com. Die erste Mail enthält das Passwort, die zweite Mail enthält die ID, die Du zum Wählen brauchst. Dort findest Du auch den Link zum Wahlportal.
Falls Du bis zum 12.1.2026 keine Mail erhalten hast, wende Dich ans Wahlamt der Uni per Mail (wahlamt.uhh@uni-hamburg) oder direkt vor Ort im Mittelweg 177, Raum S 4058 oder Raum 4061. Wenn Du Deine Funktions-eMail noch nie genutzt hast: Du erreichst sie über die Webseite surfmail.rrz.uni-hamburg.de. Dein Benutzername ist Deine B-Kennung, das Passwort ist dasselbe, welches Du auch bei STiNE verwendest.
