WE INVITE YOU TO THE „CELE-BREAK“

A social break from studying, restriction and „Christmas time“ for international students – by international students.

WHEN? Wednesday, 29th December 2021, 4pm – 8pm

WHERE? At the „Syntagma“ – next to the HASPA Café, in the WiWi-Bunker (ground floor), Von-Melle-Park 5/Fröbelstraße.

The pandemic crisis is depressing for everyone. Many courses are digital (again) and the social situation is bad. The „Christmas holidays“ are often particularly sad for international students. In addition, there is a lot of uncertainty about how everything will continue. The majority of students miss social contacts; many develop depression and other illnesses.

This is unacceptable! Education is not the blunt consumption of knowledge. A human being is not a screen either. We need stimulation, social networks, friendships, language and cultural exchange like light and food.

We need other people to be human!

We, the Referat für internationale Studierende fight for the university to be open for people-friendly encounters and to become a starting point for social movement. We are committed to education as an experience of solidarity and to science in global responsibility. There are students from all over the world here. We can use our collective experience, wisdom and creativity to improve the situation of students and at the same time strengthen global solidarity for peace, justice and a successful future on this planet.

ALL INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS are invited to the „CELE-BREAK“ – a mixture of Study Break and Celebration: we want to get to know you and discuss the current situation. You can meet other students, ask questions, discuss, criticise, simply listen, bring an musical instrument… We are looking forward to meeting you!
